FILTRATION OF SWIMMING POOL

The complete volume of the swimming pool water is circulated through the Sand Filters in times specified above.

The filtered water enters the pool via swimming pool wall inlets and returns through the base drains, located in the deepest areas, and via a surface draw off channel, which runs around the perimeter of the swimming pool.

The base drains connected to the suction manifold of the swimming pool filter circulating pump.

Overflow water entering the surface draw off channel returns by gravity directly to the surge tank, which is located adjacent to the plant room. Water is drawn from the swimming pool surge tank through the suction manifold of the filter circulating pump.

Out of the total filtration flow, 50 percent is drawn from the bottom of the base drain and 50 percent is drawn from the swimming pool surface.  All the water is pumped back to swimming pool through the Filters having filtered out all the suspended particles.

Water make up is through the Make up Water Valve connected to the suction manifold of the filter pumps and through the solenoid valve activates by float switch in the surge tank.

HEATING SYSTEM FOR SWIMMING POOL, JACUZZI

An unheated swimming pool will lose pool temperature in the winter as air temperatures fall and solar heating effect on the water in low. The calorex heat pump extracts heat from the atmosphere and concentrates it to heat pool water, since the heat in the air is free; the only energy paid for is the electrical power to operate the compressor and fan. Even at winter air temperature of 15ºC, the heat pump will produce 4kW of heat for 1kW of power absorbed.

COOLING SYSTEM FOR SWIMMING POOL, JACUZZI, PLUNGE POOL AND COLD POOL

High summer temperature up 50ºC and long hours of intense sunshine add heat to pool water. When the pool temperature rises to 35ºC + the refreshing effect of a swim is minimal since the water temperature is similar to the body temperature. The pool needs to be below 32ºC to remain refreshing. Heat pump provides this cooling in the same unit as the high efficiency heater! Cooling, by the Heat pump. 

BASIS OF DESIGN

Bathing Loads

The services are designed taking into account bathing loads of one bather per 2m² of available water surface area and are capable of maintaining water quality at this load.  It is the responsibility of the Pool Operator to ensure that the Bathing Load is not exceeded and that the Plant is operated and maintained properly.
